These are some quotes from Urbana 15, InterVarsity’s missions conference. Mike and Annie both felt powerful promptings from God at Urbana. Mike was challenged by God to press into minsitry on campus, including starting a new ministry for black students. Luckily a pair of volunteers from Purdue also had that prompting at Urbana. Since then, Mike has helped them and a student leader to launch that ministry [read more here]. It has been a joyful experience to see these students feel like they are truly a part of God’s family.
Annie was struck by one of the speakers who said, “Unless there is an element of risk in our pursuit of God there is no need for faith.” She realized she has been following God faithfully, but comfortably. She hasn’t felt like she has taken a significant risk in her faith recently. She believes God wants her to take a new risk soon. She doesn’t know what that is, but she is waiting expectantly to see what God has in store.
