Mike and Annie have a lot of exciting news to share this month. First, we are expecting! Annie is 14 weeks along and is due November 3rd. She is grateful that she has been feeling pretty good so far. Mike teases her because she seems to be sleeping all the time. She reminds him that growing a baby is hard work! We are looking forward to finding out the gender, decorating the nursery, and all the other things that come with preparing for a baby. It has been wonderful to share the news with friends and family and let them share in the excitement. So far the doctor says everything looks healthy and is going well. We would love your prayers that we would continue to experience a smooth and healthy pregnancy.
And the good news doesn’t stop there – Mike got a promotion! He is now the Area Director for Purdue University. This means that he will oversee all the InterVarsity chapters at Purdue and supervise the staff team. He will also have more influence in the overall ministry across Indiana as he works with other directors across the state. Mike is a big picture visionary so this role is a great fit for him. He will step away from the day-to-day details of campus work and be able to help the other staff think strategically about how to move their ministries forward. Mike will still have some time on campus as he continues to help our new Black student and Asian American student ministries grow. Mike is looking forward to expanding his influence as he shepherds and leads the staff at Purdue.
These changes in our life and work will mean changes in our funding needs. We’ve heard diapers are expensive and babies go through a lot of them ;-) Increased cost of living and health insurance needs will cause our budget to go up next year. We anticipate needing to raise an additional $3,000/month to be fully funded. Would you prayerfully consider one of the following?
-Join our financial support team on with a monthly, quarterly, or annual gift
-Increase your current support
-Introduce us to others who might be interested in hearing more about our ministry
We deeply appreciate the ways you have supported us and prayed for us over the last few years! We are so grateful that our new baby will become part of such a large community of love and support. Thank you for the ways you have loved us and will love our baby. We look forward to sharing more updates and pictures with you.
For Christ and the University,
Mike and Annie Zientara
