In our last newsletter we told you the Greeks were getting ready for Greek Getaway. It was a successful weekend! Annie was afraid she would have to cancel it because not enough students signed up. But in typical Greek fashion, the students signed up at the last minute. Twenty students from eleven different chapters attended! It was a great weekend full of community building and Bible study. The students grew in their relationships with God and each other.
We worked our way through 1 John over the weekend. Students discussed what it means to “walk in the light, as He is in the light, [and] have fellowship with one another” [1 John 1:7]. They talked about how even a small bit of light can permeate the darkness. They were catching a vision for how they can bring change to their chapters and the Greek community if they are committed to following Jesus. It was great to hear their excitement for what could happen back on campus!
Now the semester is settling into some kind of routine. Many of the Chapter Ministry Leaders have already started up their Bible studies. The CML in FarmHouse said 25 guys came one night! The challenge now is for CMLs who haven’t been able to get their Bible studies started yet. As the semester keeps going it will become even more difficult for them to get started. There are 14 active chapter Bible studies and 23 chapters regularly represented at our weekly large group. God is moving in Purdue Greek IV!
Please pray that the Chapter Ministry Leaders would stay committed to Jesus’ mission even as the semester continues to get busy.
