Students are already in the thick of their first exams for the school year. As classes have gotten going, InterVarsity has built momentum on campus as well. During the first week of school students had great conversations with hundreds of students asking them about their spiritual interest, and sharing the vision of InterVarsity. Purdue InterVarsity hosted a cookout, gave away pancakes, played minute-to-win-it games, and enjoyed meeting people at outreach stations around campus!
Another big piece has been launching our Growth Groups all throughout campus. These smaller groups serve as our main on-ramp for new students to get involved in InterVarsity throughout the year. There are already some great highlights from those groups. Twyla, sophomore, talked about following up with people and being encouraged by the growth group turnout. Jordan, junior, had a freshman reserving space for the group. Austin, junior, had two guys from his dorm that are in the marching band commit to his growth group. Justin, senior, leads a growth group at the airport and is already talking to peers about starting a second one. God continues working as we navigate challenges and celebrate the vision being lived out in students’ lives.
