In the past two weeks Purdue has welcomed back students from summer break. In the midst of this transition, InterVarsity has been hard at work to welcome these students. Here are some highlights from the three chapters at Purdue:
Purdue IV has already gotten contact information from 184 new students interested in connecting with the chapter. 4 new students are already helping reach out to other new students. The chapter is launching 8 growth groups on campus, including 3 we didn’t expect from new leaders we’ve met!
Greek IV started before school did by gathering 6 new Bible study leaders, called Chapter Ministry Leaders [CMLs] to train them as they start something new. At Meet the Greeks, a fair to advertise Greek organizations, they had 40 freshmen sign up as interested in Greek freshmen Bible studies they are launching!
International IV greeted international students as they got off the bus from the airport for the first time. They already gathered info from over 80 int’l students who want to know more about Jesus, most of whom are non-Christian.
Gathering the names of these students can be fun, challenging, tiring, and rewarding, now comes the challenge of following up with each of these students and helping them connect with our chapters.
